Where should I stay in Vienna?
Inner Stadt: The heart of the city, this area is home to the famous Ringstraße, which is great for shopping and experiencing the bulk of attractions in Vienna. This is where you’ll find the most expensive apartments in the city.
Leopoldstadt:This district was once the Jewish quarter of Vienna. Today it is popular due to the massive Prater Park, a great spot for families. It’s close to the city centre and has an excellent array of sport facilities.
Landstrasse:Here you’ll see two of the city’s most famous architectural landmarks: Belvedere Palace and Schwarzenberg Palace and also most of the city’s foreign embassies. It has some of the best transport links in the city.
Wieden:This is a hip area boasting historic buildings and its own centre, Karlsplatz. Well connected, this is a great part of Vienna in which to find a stylish self-catering apartment.
Margareten:This is a largely residential popular with tourists because it is the site of many of the historic homes of some of Vienna’s more famous people. This is a great area if you want an apartment full of character.
Mariahilf: An area often visited by tourists thanks to the Naschmarkt – a well-known open air food market where visitors can haggle with locals and experience the true culture of Vienna. Undoubtedly the best area for shopping in Vienna, there’s also a great selection of cafes and restaurants.
